Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

This Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy supplements our Privacy Policy and explains how ClinicalFindr ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares consumer health data, including as required by the Washington My Health My Data Act, the Nevada consumer health data law, and similar laws. It applies to everyone who uses our Services, wherever you live.
1. What consumer health data do we collect?
"Consumer health data" is personal information linked or reasonably linkable to you that identifies your past, present, or future physical or mental health status. Through our matching form and eligibility questions we may collect:
- Your answers to a study's screening questions, which may reveal a health condition, diagnosis, symptom, treatment, medication, pregnancy or breastfeeding status, or other health information.
- Your date of birth and gender, used to determine which studies you may qualify for.
- Your ZIP code, used to find studies enrolling near you.
- Your interest in a particular study (for example, which result you tapped), which may indicate a health condition.
We do not collect biometric data or precise geolocation.
2. Sources
We collect consumer health data directly from you when you enter it into our form or answer eligibility questions. We do not purchase consumer health data or collect it from third parties.
3. How we use consumer health data
- To determine which clinical research studies and other opportunities you may qualify for and to display those results to you.
- With your consent, to pre-fill the enrollment form of the study or partner you choose to connect with.
- To operate, secure, and improve the Services. Our analytics record that a form was submitted and which result was tapped, not the content of your health answers.
4. How we share consumer health data
We share consumer health data only when you direct us to, by tapping a study or opportunity: the information you provided is transmitted to that study's recruitment site or partner so they can evaluate your eligibility and contact you. With the consent you give on our form, your information may also be shared with the marketing partners we name so they can contact you about the opportunities you asked about. Those recipients may include:
- Clinical research recruitment partners (named before launch)
Our service providers (website hosting, security, and analytics) process data on our behalf under contracts that prohibit them from using it for their own purposes. We do not sell consumer health data in exchange for money. If any sharing described here is considered a "sale" under applicable law, we will obtain your separate, written authorization first.
5. Your rights
You have the right to: confirm whether we are collecting, sharing, or selling your consumer health data and to access it, including a list of third parties and affiliates with whom we have shared it; withdraw consent to our collection and sharing; and have your consumer health data deleted, including by the third parties we shared it with, to the extent required by law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
To exercise a right, use our contact form and choose "Privacy request" or "Delete my information". We will respond within 45 days (extendable by 45 days where the law allows). If we deny your request you may appeal by replying to our response; if your appeal is denied you may contact your state Attorney General.
6. Retention
We do not currently retain the information you enter into our form on our servers; it remains in your browser and is transmitted only to the recipients you choose. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.
